The Slayers and the New World

So, I did the Slayers Request fanworks exchange, and ended up getting Amber, who asked for a picture or fic of the principle cast in the end of the 19th century. So, here we have, from left to right, Sylphiel, Gourry, Lina, Amelia and Zelgadis. Originally it was supposed to be an elseworlds-type picture of the end of the first season, but Lina has her talismans. Oops. I also debated as to whether Zel should be human or not, or whether to throw in Xellos and Filia (perhaps looking less European) -- the latter was settled by having no space left.

Things I struggled with: Gourry's face did not want to come out. Drawing five people in the same picture.

Things I'm pleased with: The echoes of the original costumes in the cast's new clothing. A lot of the people at Slayers Request also seemed to like the way I drew Zel.
